What is behind the design of an object? What are the inspiration elements? In this post I will take you in my personal way of working when design one of my items.
When I design a new product I always take inspiration from the things I love as Nature and Art. For this small cachepot, which resembles a flower, it was inevitable to be inspired by the traditional Japanese “Kamon” (家 紋). These symbols, comparable to western heraldic crests, were used to identify a dynasty (家). The “Mon” (紋) are stylizations encased in circular shapes containing prevalently natural elements such as plants, flowers and animals but also natural entities, celestial or artificial, all represented abstractly. Finally this is the way how my personal “Kamon” is born that originates this colorful flower pots collection.
They are perfect for any room in the home with their contemporary and multicolor look. These ones are not only some pot covers but rather some “organizer”: chocolates, placeholder, party cookies, bonbonniere and, with simple glasses, you can transform them in flowers vases.
